Welcome to the demo page
Here you can listen to the demo of the "somewhere ancient" music album. some of the tracks are full-length and the others are just 44 seconds as a preview. The album is designed to be heard in the context of a continuous sequence.

Each track has a piece of literature that is observable in our videos of preview tracks. We believe that the combination of their semantic content and the musical semantic contents of the tracks can lead to a transcendental experience, along with a musical experience, for some of the audience; and that’s the reason for the high importance of the designation of the album’s booklet for this project.

we believe that the major difference between a conceptual work with a semantical one is basically in the fact that each of the audiences of a conceptual work will have a personal perception and interpretation of the embedded patterns in a conceptual work; but in a semantical work, the perceptions of the audience happen based on a unique meaning and gestalt, and every audience can have a range of perceptions and interpretations with various depth but based on a semantic gestalt, in accordance with their level of perception and the quality and depth of their consciousness.

An Introduction to "Somewhere Ancient" musical project
Ehsan's desire has always been to unearth and develop the musical potentials concealed in the microtonal scales of ancient and folk music from various backgrounds and ethnicities (especially in Iran).

Ehsan has conducted extensive research in this area, particularly in recent years. Considering that his focus has not been on folk melodies but instead on the sound foundation and microtonal intervals of folk scales and perceiving, tasting, and savoring them, he has selected the appropriate genre for such an approach, a combination of ambient, drone, and neo-classical genres with a minimal approach and he has created this musical form as a context to express his intellectual states and perceptions in relation with the life before us.

It’s noteworthy that this will be his first album of the collection of “Somewhere Ancient” in which the microtonal intervals of the Iranian scale of Chahargah (which is one of the seven major scales in Iranian traditional music) have been used in compilation with C major scale, as the sound context. For the rest of this project, not only other Iranian scales but also the microtonal intervals of other nations will be employed as well so that it would lead to a comprehensive international project all around the world.

One of the implicit goals of defining this project is to initiate a modern musical movement in the detection and even creation of the microtonal scales and working on them as musical foundations so that it would lead to an innovative spectrum of semantic and conceptual musical works.
